DESCRIPTION:Sea Glass Setting Workshop (BC02X1GLa) \nOn this 3.5 hour sea glass setting workshop at our teaching studio in Great Linford\, you will learn how to encase sea glass into fine silver frames to create beautiful pendants or earrings. Choose from pieces we cave collected from Charmouth\, Scotland and Cornwall or bring your own. \nExperienced tutor Beccy will gently guide you through a wealth of techniques to enable you to make your very own pieces of jewellery from these lovely treasures of the sea. \nYou will learn how to: \n\nSelect the perfect piece of sea glass\nMeasure your glass\nSelect and form the appropriate fine silver strip size for the glass\nSolder setting and jump rings\nMake fittings using pliers and silver wires for your pendant or earrings\nSolder all components together\nUse acrylic and metal stone setting tools to secure your glass\nSand and polish your piece\n\nWhat do I need to bring?\nIf you wear reading glasses please bring them with you.\nPlease wear closed toe shoes and avoid wearing floaty scarves or skirts.\nIf you would like to bring your own sea glass we can definitely look through your pieces to find any suitable ones. \nMaterials: All materials for 2 pendants are included in the course fee. \nLevel: Some experience of soldering and stone setting is beneficial but not essential \nImportant information: Good hand dexterity and reasonable hand strength is essential as we are using small components to construct your piece and it takes quite a bit of force to set the glass. Good eyesight is also essential as we will be working in very small scale.
