Thank you
Thank you for signing up for one of my silver jewellery making courses. Please remember to pop a note of the course date and time in your diary. I will send out an email the week before with more specific details about the course.
The workshop
Yardley Arts, The Old School Hall, The Square, Yardley Hastings, Northamptonshire NN7 1EU (Please use side entrance)
What to wear
Please come with hair tied back, avoid wearing floaty skirts or scarves and suitable footwear would be great (no open toed shoes please)
Lunch
If you are attending a full day course please bring lunch with you. there will be snacks available during the day.
Glasses
As we are working on a very small scale close work glasses are essential. Reading glasses are not always strong enough so consider some off the shelf ones that are stronger than your reading glasses if you wear them. There are a selection of magnifiers available for you to use should you need them.
Dexterity
Hand dexterity is essential for most of the classes as you will need to be able to grip work firmly and use tools to form and shape the metal. Most jewellery making is tough on your hands.
Materials
If materials are not included in the course fee I will have everything you need available to purchase at the session. The cost for silver will be based on Cookson Gold standard rate for that day. Stones are a set cost and are all marked – generally they are under £10 each.
If you are attending a multi week course saw blades are charged at 20p a breakage and solder is by the 4cm length.
