Copper bowl workshop (CJ09X5YHa)
On this fun 3 hour silversmithing course you will learn how to create a shallow domed bowl from sheet copper using traditional techniques.
Techniques:
– Mark out a circle using dividers
– Cut out the circle using tin snips
– File the edges to make sure they are not sharp
– Use a blocking hammer and tree stump former to sink the metal into a shallow bowl form
– Use gas torch to anneal the copper bowl
– Use planishing hammers and a metal stake to even out the bowl form and create a smooth surface
– Finish edges with sanding papers
– Polish bowl using polishing wheel, mops and compounds
