Keum-Boo Pendant / Earrings Workshop – Adding gold to fine silver (BF04X4YHa)

On this 3.5 hour course you will be guided through the ancient Korean technique of Keum-boo to create a design of your choice.

Learn how to make a beautiful textured pendant or pair of earrings in fine silver and add a striking detail of 24ct gold.

You will:

1. Test applying textures on metal using papers and fabrics in a rolling mill and a range of hammers
2. Design your pendant or earrings
3. Cut the gold Keum-boo foil to the desired shape using paper cutting stamps, scissors or craft knife
4. Apply gold foil onto your fine silver sheet using heat and pressure
5. Roll or hammer your texture
6. Cut sheet metal using disc cutters, shaped cutters, piercing saw or shears
7. File and sand shape to refine design
8. Burnish edges
9. Add fittings and findings to complete design
